Chameleon Prefixes are prefixes that change the letter based on the letter of the next syllables. Why? Speaking fluency is important to clear communication and changing the prefixes based on the ending letter of the prefix.
This detailed multisensory resource is based on the principles of Orton Gillingham using Multisensory Strategies and supports individuals working to develop decoding, fluency, comprehension of words, sentences and paragraphs.
Students are provided multiple and multisensory opportunities to increase reading and writing skills and for many, positive increase in academic self-confidence. Do you have students who require a great deal of one-to-one teaching time due to limited reading skills? Well this is a great packet to use to support student development of short vowels. This multisensory lesson is based on the principles and research of The Orton Gillingham approach, a multisensory, explicit, sequential, and cumulative approach, which incorporates repeated and continual review of skills. Short vowels for many students can be problematic, and require continual review and reinforcement.
The multisensory lessons including cue cards of each short vowel, book marks for student in keep in a folder to quick reference, and multisensory activities that can be used in a class setting, independently, small group, or whole class are included. Well this is a great learning tool to support students learning after initial presentation, and directions, with less teacher directed time. There is a great opportunity for students to also increase memory and recall, while becoming more independent!

This is a time-saving- just print and go - PDF resource with over 225 pages complete with words lists; word phrases; and sentences. This resource is designed to provide teachers and parents with premade lists for reading fluency practice for post skill presentations. This is not a resource that includes skills lessons, but as a supplemental resource to continue practice with reading fluency.

This training packet is designed to provide examples of a multisensory lesson of the following: short vowels; consonants; consonant blends; consonant digraphs; long vowels; vowel diphthongs; compound words; schwa; inflected endings; prefixes; roots; suffixes; syllable types; spelling generalizations/rules and accent rules for participants use with their small and/or large classroom settings. Teachers will use multisensory strategies and better develop reading and writing skills, along with development of working memory; processing speed; vocabulary and writing skills.
Each grade level includes at least three skill areas that can be used immediately in classes, small groups, or for tutoring sessions.
Using a multisensory approach, along with the principles of Orton Gillingham, students can make progress and positive changes academically and with self-esteem.
This can be used to help struggling readers in from kindergarten to grade six (Look for the additional grades this fall 2016).
